The internet is an incredible place. It connects us, teaches us, and entertains us.
But let’s be real — it also gives some people the courage to be cruel.
Behind a screen, people say things they’d never have the boldness to say face-to-face. And if you’ve ever been attacked online, please hear this: you are not being “too sensitive.”
Cyberbullying is real. And yes — it hurts.
What Cyberbullying Can Do
• Leave you anxious or down
• Make you pull away from friends and family
• Crush your confidence
• And in some cases, leave scars that last longer than the words themselves
But here’s the truth: you are not powerless. There are steps you can take to protect your peace and stop things from getting worse.
Smarter Ways to Respond
• Don’t feed the trolls. Bullies are after one thing — your reaction. Silence speaks louder than any clapback.
• Don’t clap back. Fighting back might feel good for a moment, but it keeps you stuck in their drama. Don’t play their game.
• Block them. Every app has a block button. Use it. Out of sight, out of mind.
• Save the evidence. Screenshot their messages or posts. If you need to report, that’s your proof.
• Set boundaries once. If you feel safe, send a clear message like:
• “Stop messaging me.”
• “Take this down.”
• “If this continues, I’ll report it.”
Then block — and don’t respond again.
Boost Your Confidence
Cyberbullies often look for people they think are weak.
Show them you are stronger than that.
Do the things that make you happy.
Spend time with people who support you.
Remind yourself daily of your worth.
Confidence isn’t about being the loudest in the room — it’s about knowing your value and protecting your peace.
Please, Talk to Someone
Don’t carry this alone. Speak up.
Tell your parents, an older sibling, or someone you trust.
Show them the screenshots — let them stand with you.
If it’s a classmate, get your school involved.
If it’s serious, report it.

Final Word
Dear amazing teens, you deserve to feel safe online.
You are stronger than their words.
You are worth more than any comment, post, or troll.
And no amount of online hate can dim the light inside you.
So don’t stay silent. Stand tall. Shine brighter. Protect your peace.
Because your life, your voice, and your future matter so much more than their cruelty ever will.
I am rooting for you all the way.
